Other Folk Games
In Jeong Seon , there are more games such as flying a
kite, a tug of war and so on. When people fly a kite they
write their "wish" on the kite and pray that
don't get any bad luck for the year. According to history
documents, the person flying the kite cuts the kite string
once the kite is flying high. The place that the kite
drops is holy spot. Jeong Seon has couple of these holy
places.
There's game for girls called NotDaRi BalbGi. To play
the game, girls gather at a certain place on the night
of the first full moon of January. The girls bend over
at the waist in a straight line one after the other.
This creates a human bridge. Then the prettiest girl
in town starts walking along the human bridge and asks
"Who owns this bridge?" Then rest of the girls
who make up the bridge yell, "It belongs to NaLa
town!"
There are more games for farmers and local residents.
The elders try to hand down to youth all of these traditional
folk games
